Next Generation Desktop Environment (NGDE) Engineer – TS/SCI

As an NGDE Engineer supporting the Government, you will be a part of a team charged with designing and implementing Forcepoint's Trusted Thin Client (TTC) which provides users with secure simultaneous access to any number of networks/environments from a single endpoint device, including deploying the Distribution Console, Forcepoint Trusted Thin Client enterprise administration and security hub, maintaining secure connections to each virtualized backend network. In this role, a typical day may include: - Responsible for Next Generation Desktop Engineering UNIX/Linux servers, operating systems, and successful integration with the hardware and software of the major computing systems across the organization
- Planning, testing, installing, and integrating new and upgraded versions of the relevant desktops on organizational computer systems such as Trusted Thin Client, all third-party software components (ForcePoint solution), and subsystems
- Conducting system security engineering activities (Linux focused).
- Installing, monitoring, and tuning Linux Server operating system software and virtual machine sub-system software
- Capturing and refining client requirements and ensuring they are effectively integrated into information technology component products and information systems through purposeful design, development, and configuration
- Providing expert level technical consultation to the development team to support the design process including Cross Domain Solution
- Employing best practices when implementing patch management / vulnerability management in the Linux construct
- Performing research, analysis, and design for all Linux computing systems and network infrastructure
- Developing, implementing, and documenting formal configuration guides as needed
- Providing security controls and maintaining necessary network/data separation
- Ensuring that essential services are installed on supported versions of OS and ensuring versions of the services are up to date
WHAT YOULL NEED: - Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following:Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security
- Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline + 8 years experience or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work/military experience
- Experience with DoD vulnerability analysis and Industry Best Business Practices
- Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience in standing up new services/tools on virtual machine within a Linux environment.
- Experience with Gitlab, Docker, or repo mirrors
- Experience with Python. PowerShell, or Bash scripting
- Familiar with VMware ESXi and vSphere
- Familiar with virtualization network on multiple classifications
- Familiar with Citrix or VMware VDI architecture
